Guest Post

Hello Readers! So April is the Birthday month of my wife and I took her to Phuket for a surprise. Yes that’s romantic and she seemed to be amazed with it.

About the Resort :-

We stayed in Thavorn Beach Village. It’s a very beautiful resort and you can feel that Mother Nature lies in the heart of the resort.  It has a very pristine clear shallow beach which is private to the resort customers only. They also have a farmland area in the resort where they grow the food they prepare in the hotel. There are other lovely plants as well as animals like rabbits, tortoise, rooster, turkey roaming around in the resort.

The resort gives a very happy feeling. They have a very old style cable car that takes us to the Hill top sea view rooms.

There are some beach side cottages available but we preferred staying in the hilltop sea view resort rooms which had private Jacuzzi in the balcony. Patong is just a 10 minutes’ drive from the resort, which used to cost us between 300 to 400 THB one way.

We took a small City Tour on our Day 1. The driver showed us Buudha Temple, Karon view point, from where you get view of 3 beaches – Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon Beaches.

Later we went to La Gritta, an Italian Restaurant in Amaris Hotel, which is in Patong Area. When asked if there was an occasion, I mentioned, it was my wife’s birthday and they surprised us with a beautiful cake. Restaurant has amazing view. It is situated just next to the beach side, and there were fireworks visible from the restaurant’s open area which makes the whole experience magical.

Day 2 :-

The second day kick started with a pick up from our resort to the are where all the ferries leave for Phi Phi island. We had taken a tour of Phi Phi Island, Maya Island Tour, it started at 9 am. It was a full day tour.

Sun Block, Sun Glasses and fresh pair of clothes are a must to carry.

We did a lot of snorkeling and soaked in the sun and did a lot of playing on the beach. We were also served lunch at the island after we were done with the snorkeling. I would suggest that do wear your swimming suits underneath you normal clothes so that you can anytime take off your clothes and take a dip in the water. The lunch is basic, nothing for vegetarians just bun and salad.

Again we got a chance to get wet on Maya Island, it’s a very clean water with powder sand beaches.

Local Thai food is not to miss. There is a very famous restaurant No.6, you can see a long queue there. As our long day island hopping ended we headed to get a nice Thai massage to rejuvenate our senses and to feel relaxed and less tired. Massages are quiet cheap in Thailand but watch out and be careful enough to go to a descent Massage center only else you might end up in awkward moments.  Tip:- look for massage parlors, which are little interior to main road.

Day 3:-

On our last day in Phuket we had decided to just stay in the resort and have fun on the private beach. The water is very shallow especially during low tide period so people who are great swimmers or surfers will definitely not like the place. But it perfectly suited my choice as the water is very shallow and crystal clear and full of corals and fish on the shore. So you can easily wet your feet in the water while so many fish swim in the water near your feet. We also saw a lot of sea cucumbers and different varieties of fish along with corals and a few jelly fish look alike Blue Propate on the beach. A few metres inside the sea we were more likely to see Eels also but as we did not want to hurt the corals so we did not go deeper walking on them.
