Veg Cutlets

I was sitting on my couch and gazing out of my window, the rain was pouring heavily, it was a cozy evening yesterday. Suddenly it popped in my mind to surprise my husband with some snacks with tea. My momma is an amazing cook and this one is a recipe which she had shared with me a few days back. So I thought of using the recipe she shared to make veg cutlets. It is super easy and takes not more than 30 minutes . Here is a detailed description of it.

  1. 1 cup chopped carrot
  2. 1/2 cup chopped beans
  3. 1/2 cup peas
  4. 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  5. Salt (according to taste)
  6. Finely chopped green chillies (2 tsp)
  7. A pinch of garam masala (optional)
  8. 1 tsp of grated ginger
  9. 1 cup of bread crumbs
  10. Oil (to fry)
  11. Suji (semolina), to dust the cutlets

Preparation Time: 20 min

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Steps 1. In a pressure cooker boil all the vegetables for 5-7 minutes.

Step 2. In a bowl add all the pressure cooked vegetables and mashed potatoes

Step 3 : Add bread crumbs, salt, green chillies, grated ginger and garam masalaMashed vegetables

Step 4: Mash the content in the bowl and mix it all evenly.

Step 5: Heat oil in a pan

Step 6: In the meanwhile, take small portion of the above mixture in your hand, and make round shaped cutlets. You can choose any shape.

Tip: Oil your hands before shaping the cutlets in order to avoid the stickiness

Step 7: When the oil is hot, coat the cutlets in semolina and then place it in the hot oil pan to deep fry it. Alternately you can also bake in oven, but I prefer to deep fry as the flavour then enhances.Semolina to dust the cutlets
